Assoc. prof. Beata Buchelt, Ph.D.
Professor at the Department of Human Capital Management at the Krakow University of Economics and Visiting Professor at University of Michigan Health-West. She holds a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in economics in the field of management sciences, specializing in human resource management.
She is a member of the Expert Council of the Supreme Medical Chamber (NIL), the Program Council of the Polish Hospital Federation, and the Scientific Council of the “Nie widać po mnie” Foundation. She serves as Director of the Center for Healthcare Economics and Management at the Krakow University of Economics, as well as Director of the MBA in Healthcare programme at the Krakow School of Business.
Prof. Buchelt is a member of numerous expert teams involved in designing and implementing HRM methods and tools. She has served as lecturer and visiting professor at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Roosevelt University in Chicago, and Pforzheim University in Germany. She also collaborates with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
She is a member of the Supreme Council of the Polish Society for Coordinated Healthcare. As a Senior Fulbright Award scholar, she conducted the research project High Performance Work Practices: Physicians’ Perspective.
For over 20 years, she has been a researcher in the field of human resource management in healthcare. She is the author of dozens of publications on personnel management in medical institutions, including the award-winning monograph The Concept of a Work Performance Management System for Medical Personnel in Hospitals, recognized by the Committee on Labour and Social Policy Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
