Stanisław Mazur, Rector of the University of Economics in Kraków (2020–2024) and First Deputy Mayor of Kraków (2024–2026)
Stanisław Mazur, PhD, professor and former rector of the University of Economics in Kraków, is a political scientist by education and passion, focusing on issues of political power and its role in society.
He is a specialist in public policy and administration, as well as management in these fields. For many years, he has been actively involved in the development of public life in Kraków. He served as President of the Foundation for Public Economy and Administration – GAP Foundation (2007–2009), was a member of the Civil Service Council (2009–2015), and co-founded the Better Kraków Association, which promotes innovative solutions for public policies in the city. He was Rector of the University of Economics in Kraków from 2020 to 2024 and First Deputy Mayor of Kraków from 2024 to 2026.
An experienced manager and leader, he has overseen numerous projects and organisations. Throughout his academic and public career, he has built a strong reputation in both national and international academic, economic, and public policy circles. He is known for promoting cooperation, dialogue, and respect for diverse perspectives while striving to develop practical solutions that serve the public interest.
